The final details and activities are well underway! Tile is being organized and cut, the water tanks are being connected, and there are rings! The “rings” are door-pulls for the kitchen and bathroom cabinet drawers and doors. These are very traditional and quite rustic. I hesitated to add them, but Steve exclaimed: “Without the door-pulls, everything will look naked!” Well, we can’t have that, can we? So bring on the Rings!!
- Tiles are placed and cut to fit–waiting for the grout now.
- Palomas Azul!
- They are apologizing for messing up the tiles on the living room floor…
- Never knew grout came in so many colors!
- The bar has supports–aren’t they pretty?
- Shelves for the kitchen cabinets
- Returns are painted and in place
- Linen closet doors in the Guest Bathroom
- Tiles generally organized in the Guest Bathroom
- The walk-in shower floors have been poured and sloped towards the drain.
- Single spot on the kiva in the West End Master Suite.
- Big vents still need returns…
- Niles says: Something is missing?
- Yep, the outhouse is gone!
- And here are the “rings”: traditional doorpulls for the drawers and doors.
- Steve has spray-painted them black
- They will add a rustic charm to the kitchen and bathrooms
- I call this “Blue Sky with Adobe”
- The hooking up of the water tanks continues
- Now the tanks are “talking” to each other
- I can hear the sound of water rushing through these pipes…
- …and the water is coming from the roof!
- More rings
- We are getting down to the last details…
- The house has withstood two pretty severe ice storms now…
- …no damage at all.
- This handmade house is sturdy as a rock
- The metal shields on the vigas protect them from water damage and rotting.
- I love this profile.
personal
We walked the Old Walk, down the ranch road that the cows use so much, because today the cows are on the Rocks Road! And once we get to the bottom of the road, we see that, indeed, they have eaten everything there is to eat down here…After days of being trapped indoors, it is lovely to be outside, although it is cold. The blue sky is something I should never take for granted.
- Obligatory day-time moon shot!
- Despite the ice storms, things are still quite green.
- It is wonderful to see blue sky again!
- Winter? Not yet…
- But some green areas are gone now…
- And we know Winter Is Coming…
These are very nice shots, Leah.
