Digging In The Dirt, Part 2

October 24

No pictures or postings for Tuesday and Wednesday even though we were up at the site.

Lots of planning on Tuesday for Plan B: instead of six water tanks, we are down-sizing to four. This will provide 20,000 gallons of rainwater, once it rains. The embedded rock in that hole is just too tough to move without lots of jack-hammering, so Plan B it is. I suggested dynamite but this idea was vetoed. 😉

Also looked at color samples for the kivas and began thinking about how to blend the kivas in with the other colors planned for the kitchen and the den. The number of color options for the kivas is overwhelming but narrowing it down is actually pretty easy once you remember what the rest of the room will look like…

And Wednesday was spent with Pauline, the wonderful artist who will create the light fixtures for the pendant lights and the sconces that will be all over the house. She works in clay and makes extraordinary pieces. Can’t wait for you to see them.

Now, let’s tour a bit of the house and then hit the trench!
