October 5
We head up on a beautiful clear Saturday to discover a crew member hosing down the house!
And no hike today. Bella has injured a paw and is on medication. She will be fine but no hiking for the next 3 days. Sigh. It is so beautiful outside, too!

It is necessary to keep the stucco moist until it has time to set properly.
Once the second stucco layer has been completed, there will be a one-week wait before the elastomeric layer is added.
- I really like the way the garage blends in with the rest of the house
- Front porch
- Detail of front porch
- There is going to be a beautiful sconce there someday soon!
- The lines and shadows make the building so visually interesting.
- West End Den
- When the scaffolding is removed, the house is going to look so different.
- West End Den
- I love how the pieces of the building fit together and complement each other.
- West End Ramada
- West End Ramada
- Detail work in the Ramada
- West End Master Suite Bedroom
- Remember when this was covered in black with little silver circles all over it?
- Two Guest Bedrooms and Bath–all of these now have the second stucco layer.
- Textured but smooth
- Another example of how this house is “hand-made.”
- Living Room, Dining Room, My Bedroom–the only areas remaining!
- First Layer, meet Second Layer.
- The other side of my bedroom has the second stucco layer.
- This side of the house (my bathroom, study, and the back of the garage) is all done.
- I really want to grab the scaffolding and pull it down so I can see the house better!
- I resist this urge, of course…
- Steve has built houses that are more daring than this one–I visited one that has gray and pink exterior walls…I wonder…
- No, this is a traditional Pueblo Revival and we need to stick to the plan!
- Still, this is a very cool color… 😉
Hi 🙂
It is understandable that you are a little impatient but will come the time when everything is done and you will be very happy with this beatiful house.
I hope Bella will be alright soon.
