July 1
The saying goes: If you don’t like the weather in West Texas, wait five minutes.
So, big change in the weather on this day. Cold and misty. I had to wear a jacket on the trip up to the mountain. I knew not much work was going on but I wanted to see what the house looked like in this cool, wet, misty, mysterious weather.
As I walked around the house, I kept thinking of Scotland. Tony and I visited Scotland–Glasgow, Falkirk, and Edinburgh–back in Summer 2001 on a trip with University of Houston Honors College students. There were so many days there that looked and felt just like this one years later up in the mountains of West Texas. So strange and haunting, these mists…
- This can’t be West Texas, can it?
- More like a cold windswept day on the moors
- Bella points birds in the mists…
- In the gloaming…
- Good news! The downspouts work!
- Must make sure this water goes somewhere we can use it
- The one door
- Where is Frog Mountain?
- Hidden by the mists
- Scotland, Texas.
Nice.
